As per what happened with the fabric, when it came to badges and original letters, that this car still kept, the market reproduction also lacked the quality that we were envisioning for the work.
The synthetic reproductions lack the original enamel flare…and the letters produced today, look very alike the old ones…but lack the elegance…
For the Bertone badges it is even worse, because the reproductions, the few ones that are finished, are painted instead of enameled. After investigating again who could help us, we have stumbled into a video of a famous youtube program that featured one of the last Italian workshops that still produce enamel badges, and have been doing it for so long that their history is intimately connected with the Italian exotic car history.
We came across OMEA, a workshop that we encourage all enthusiasts to check, a true gem that still carries the soul of Italian handmade craftsmanship. Once we contacted them, they easily could tell us that they had produced back in the days both the Bertone badges as well as the Alfa Romeo Badges, so according to their archive they knew exactly what should be applied to this car for this particular year. Hence we could restore the original ones to the original factory finish trough the OEM supplier.
The results speak from themselves.
